Reading what things did my romanian fellows made me smile and cry in the same time. Smile because they ripped you off so easly and cry because the image about romania that comes out of it. Not very proud of it (knowing what my fellow countrymen had done), but not very ashamed by it. Sadly, all this fuss about spammers seems a little pointless. One: they are no intelligent people among their ranks, and Two: if there are some, if this is the way they are proving it, then @#%$ them all in their sorry asses (the guys in the prison, will do it for sure). Because, u know, that's the place where they will end up. Now maybe they are extremly hard to trace, but greed (and stupidity) will make them do mistakes. And i'm sooo sure that someone will be there for them when they'll do that mistake. It's a matter of time and i think it worths waiting a couple of years just to see another sorry stupid ass who thought it was the center of the Earth getting busted. A theft is a theft, doesen't matter how easy or how hard is it done. And they are stupid, they deserve to be scammed is the most @#%$ up excuse i've heard. So,to all scammers in Romania and in the world: lamers, lamers, lamers. And lamers do mistakes. And i'm not too fond on americans, too, but i don't want my reputation as a romanian being ruined by some dumb @#%$ who is thinking that stealing a laptop makes him another Robin Hood.

It might happen more often in Romania than in other countries, but on the other hand: Romania is extremely poor, life is very hard there in most places and it doesn't look like that's gonna change in the near future. On top of that, a large part of the Romanians that emigrate to western Europe are gangmembers, thieves and scammers, and leave us with a very bad (but wrong) image of the average Romanian. Same goes for Ukrain and some other former Soviet-states: the only people that get out of those countries and make it to western Europe seem to be gangmembers and gun-happy burglars....

I agree ! the bad name comes from the people we are confronted with in western europe ! I also know a lot of good ethic people are living in your country and have never left it . still : my problem with former communist countries is : the basic ethics, the ones known to all religions, are quite unknown over there since religions were supressed for so long. but you can do something there: help us catch the scammers! they are so easy to be found....just start hanging out in cybercafes.....

Some just make money from drugs, some gambling, some prositution, some deal in everything illegal, including internet fraud.

I agree you catch the scammers who f*cked you, but don't get into racist, xenophobic, nationalistic talk with me ! The obvious difference between the number of scammers tells all of us that Romanians just picked up another fashion from the Americans - our only fault is that we have a very bad habit of copying what we see and hear in other countries...

" That's right and if I'm not mistaken the russian mafia came up with escrow fraud idea first. The numbers up there are right, but keep in mind that the USA has population of about 300 Million and RO has population of 22 Million and Ro is # 5 on the list. If you look at population versus percentages of crime, it's not a nice picture of Romania. I doubt RO will be accepted into the EU. Not when the World Bank guarantees loans to RO and your politicians use that money to build statues of themselves in their home towns. Defending your countries honor in on a message board isn't going to change things. Why don't you get the corrupt people out of power? There are more of you than there are of them, correct? Other countries have done it. What's your excuse?

When we don't like a politician, we tell them they screwed up and we vote for someone else. We've throw presidents out of office and just recently the governor of the state of California. I'm sure you read about Arnold? That statue, I read that in YOUR online news, along with all the stories of payoffs, bribes and not worrying about breaking the law if you have enough money and the right friends. One story told about about a whole police dept. that was paid to look the other way while some crooks were stealing things.

Also the the story about all the police in one town looking the other way. I read it about 2 months ago and I'm not sure I can find it again, but this list of stories should satisfy you. Romania is right up there. You guys are screwed. No way you're getting into the EU! I'm personally going to start a campaign to have EVERY VICTIM complain to the EU member countries about the fraud your government does nothing about. We all know the scammers pay their way out of trouble. Well NO MORE !! No EU membership means no more money that goes to your corrupt politicians and police and judges. They'll be hunting the scammers down because it will be affecting THEIR jobs and their MONEY! Next thing we are working on is to have Western Union make all independant WU outlets financially responsible if they give money to scammers. If the independant outlets give scammers the money and it's reported as fraud, then they will have to pay it back to the victims. WU wire fraud will only be a memory.

So, if that what you think is enough for the ending of the scamming bussiness, you do it ! I'm waiting for the results. Good luck !
